Plans announced for queen’s funeral

Mourners lined streets throughout Scotland on Sunday to bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth II. A hearse carrying the late monarch’s casket proceeded slowly to Edinburgh from Balmoral Castle, where the queen died Thursday.

What are the funeral plans for the queen? Her casket will be flown to London on Tuesday. She will lie in state at the Houses of Parliament starting Wednesday. Members of the public can view the casket until her funeral service on Sept. 19. Officials warned anyone coming to pay their respects to prepare for tight security and hourslong waits.
