Palestinian gunman kills one person in West Bank

The killing comes a day after another Palestinian gunman killed two Israeli settlers in the West Bank on Sunday. Those killings incited an Israeli rampage in the village of Huwara, which featured cars and houses burning and Palestinians suffering beatings. Israeli officials were pleading on Monday for calm.

Is there a plan to stop the violence? Israel moved hundreds more troops into the West Bank on Monday, and on Sunday the Jordanian government announced that Israel and the Palestinians had agreed to de-escalate tensions and pursue peace in the region.
