Pakistan bomber used disguise to enter police compound

The suicide bomber who blew up a mosque in a police compound in Pakistan on Monday entered undetected because he wore a police uniform, police said Wednesday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Chief Moazzam Jah Ansari said the death toll of the bombing is still being confirmed, and that all those responsible for the attack will be arrested and punished under the law.

Do they know who did it? Ansari confirmed the bomber was a member of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). Previously, individuals tied to the TTP gave conflicting statements about the TTP’s involvement. Police said the attacker entered on a motorbike and then asked for directions to the mosque. Since he did not know the layout, Ansari said, someone else must have been the mastermind. Police are using images of the bomber’s face to trace his network and apprehend anyone else involved, Ansari said.
