Obama endorses Clinton after meeting with Sanders

President Barack Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton’s bid for the White House on Thursday and planned to appear with her at a campaign event in Green Bay, Wis., on Wednesday. In a web video circulated by the Clinton campaign, Obama praised his former secretary of state’s experience and toughness. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has not yet withdrawn from the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, but he appeared to be headed that way after a meeting with Obama on Thursday. Though Sanders stopped short of endorsing Clinton, he told reporters he planned to press for his agenda at the party’s July convention and would work with Clinton to defeat Trump.
