No fatalities in fiery Emirates Airline crash
An Emirates Airline flight with 300 people on board burst into flames after crash landing at Dubai International Airport this morning. All passengers and crew escaped the burning fuselage. Passengers who talked to waiting family members by phone said the pilot appeared to have trouble deploying the plane’s landing gear. According to a website that specializes in information about air accidents, a recording of the conversation between the air traffic control tower and the flight crew showed the pilot planned to abort the landing at the last minute. But the Boeing 777 ended up coming down on its belly at the end of the runway instead. The plane has been in service since 2003.
