Nate goes easy on Southern states

Mississippi and Alabama are breathing a sigh of relief Monday as weakened tropical storm Nate sweeps up into the Tennessee Valley. Nate made its first landfall as a Category 1 hurricane in Louisiana and later at Biloxi, Miss., early Sunday, after which the storm weakened considerably. The storm surge from Nate caused some homes to be flooded in coastal Louisiana. Officials have reported no deaths due to the storm.
