Nashville shooter drew detailed map of the school
Police released footage Tuesday of a 28-year-old woman shooting through glass doors to get into The Covenant School in Nashville, Tenn., where she killed six people Monday. Police said the shooter was a former student. The shooter had begun referring to herself with male pronouns on a social media site, a police spokeswoman said. Three of the victims were 9-year-old students. The other three were adults ranging in age from 60 to 61 and worked at the school as a substitute teacher, a custodian, and the head of school.
Where did the woman get her guns? She entered the school with two “assault-style” weapons and a handgun, authorities said. At least two of the firearms she had were obtained legally, according to police. Investigators found a sawed-off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence at the shooter’s home. About 200 students were in attendance at the Christian school at the time of the shooting. Police killed the shooter 14 minutes after she entered the building.
