Family of Nancy Guthrie offers $1M for her return
Today show host Savannah Guthrie released a Tuesday video marking 24 days since her mother, Nancy, disappeared. Officials believe the 84-year-old woman was forcibly taken from her southern Arizona home sometime in the early morning of Feb. 1. The Guthrie family is now offering a $1 million reward for information leading to the direct return of Nancy, Savannah said Tuesday.
Every minute has been agony since Nancy was taken, Savannah said. She thanked the millions of people praying for her mother and insisted the family still believes that a miracle could happen. Someone knows something that could help bring Nancy home, so they should be the light in the dark and come forward, Savannah said.
Savannah acknowledged that her mother may already be in heaven, but said the family still wants to bring her home. The family wants to either celebrate her safe return or celebrate the life she lived, and will offer $1 million for any information leading to Nancy’s recovery, Savannah said. The family also donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to help other families looking for lost loved ones, she added.
What about the FBI’s reward? Federal investigators will continue offering $100,000 for information leading to the safe return of Nancy, or for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her kidnappers.
Are there really no new leads after three weeks? Officials have not shared any further updates with the public regarding the case. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos declared all family members cleared of suspicion, according to a statement released last week.
