Mourners bid final farewell to Muhammad Ali

America’s most famous boxer made one final tour of his hometown, Louisville, Ky., as his funeral procession wound past the city’s best-known landmarks. Pallbearers, including former boxers Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, as well as actor Will Smith, carefully slid Muhammad Ali’s cherry-red coffin into the hearse before leaving the funeral home in double file. Ali’s nine children, wife, and two of his ex-wives joined the procession. Former President Bill Clinton will give the eulogy at a memorial service planned for this afternoon following Ali’s interment in a private graveside ceremony. The family held a traditional Muslim funeral on Thursday that was attended by 6,000 people. Another 15,000 are expected to attend today’s service.
