Massachusetts man charged for stabbing spree, suspected in homicide case

Jared Ravizza, 26, a resident of Chilmark, Mass., was arraigned in the Plymouth District Court on Tuesday in connection to a stabbing spree at a theater over the weekend. He faces charges of assault with the intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Jared is also suspected to have been at the scene of a separate homicide, according to a statement by Connecticut State Police.

What do police say are the details of the homicide case? Deep River, Conn., resident Bruce Feldman, 70, was found deceased with visible injuries Saturday afternoon. Personal belongings of Ravizza’s were found at the scene, linking him to the homicide, state police said.

What was Ravizza alleged to have done at the theater? On Saturday evening, Ravizza allegedly entered AMC Braintree 10 in Braintree, Mass., and stabbed four young girls ranging from 9 to 17 years old. After leaving the theater, Ravizza allegedly stabbed a 28-year-old male and 21-year-old female employee at a McDonald's in the Route 3 rest area. All victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Ravizza was arrested in Sandwich, Mass.

How was he charged on Tuesday? Ravizza was arraigned at Plymouth District Court on one count of armed assault to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of indecent exposure. Without bail, he has been moved to the Bridgewater State Hospital in Massachusetts to be evaluated for competency and criminal responsibility. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 17.
