Man kills daughters, chaperone at California church
The 39-year-old father was at a supervised visit Monday evening at The Church in Sacramento with his three daughters, ages 9, 10, and 13. Their mother was out of town at the time and had a restraining order against him. Police accused the father of killing the children and an adult man in the room, believed to be the chaperone, before killing himself.
What happened? A church employee heard gunshots just after 5 p.m. and called 911 as he ran out of the building. Police said the four victims and the shooter were dead by the time they arrived minutes later. Under state law, people under restraining orders are not allowed to have weapons. Police are investigating it as a domestic violence incident.
