The FBI on Tuesday night arrested 32-year-old Washington state resident Daniel Park in connection with a car bombing last month at American Reproductive Centers in Palm Springs. Federal officials took Park into custody at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on charges related to the attack. Park stands accused of providing material support to the perpetrator of the bombing, who was the only person killed by the explosion, officials said Wednesday afternoon. Authorities allege Park shipped the bomber 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate for use in the attack. He was due to appear in federal court in Brooklyn on Wednesday before being moved to California. Park is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
What happened in the attack? Officials last month identified 25-year-old Guy Edwards Bartkus as the man who carried out the explosion and the only fatality in the incident. At least four other people were injured and the building sustained major damage. Clinic staff said human eggs and embryos stored at the facility were not damaged. Bartkus left behind writings expressing nihilist and antinatalist views.
