Key Hezbollah leader dead after Israeli strike in Lebanon

Lebanese authorities on Monday reported that Hezbollah leader Wissam al-Tawil died in an Israeli airstrike. Al-Tawil is the most senior Hezbollah official killed by Israeli forces since the start of the war in Gaza. Hezbollah forces have attacked locations in northern Israel in recent days. The Israeli military has warned that “another war” could arise after Hezbollah forces on Saturday attacked an air traffic control base on Mount Meron in northern Israel.

Will another war begin between Hezbollah and Israel? Iran has warned that Israel’s war in Gaza could expand beyond the Strip if it doesn’t quit what Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani called “crimes” against the Palestinian people. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been in the Middle East trying to decrease regional tensions.
