Justice Department takes on social media balance

Attorney General Jeff Sessions plans to meet with his counterparts at the state level later this month to discuss concerns that social media giants like Facebook and Twitter are “stifling the free exchange of ideas on their platforms.” The announcement came just minutes after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey answered questions from the House Energy and Commerce Committee about whether the company suppresses conservative ideas, a charge Dorsey denied. His testimony won praise from Rep. Billy Long, R-Mo. “A lot of people come into these hearings and they practice and they coach them and they tell them how to act,” Long said. “It’s obvious that no one did that for you. You are who you are.”
