Israel to allow deportation of terrorists’ families
Israel’s parliamentary body, the Knesset, on Thursday passed a law allowing authorities to deport Israeli citizens who are the immediate family members of terrorists. Knesset Member Hanoch Milwidsky issued a statement saying that the law would help Israel crack down on terrorist activities. He originally proposed the law in 2022, he said.
What exactly are the details of the law? It allows Israeli authorities to deport the immediate family members of the perpetrators of terrorist attacks for up to 15 years for citizens and up to 20 years for legal residents, the Times of Israel reported. The law only applies if those family members had previous knowledge of the attack and failed to notify authorities, or if that family member ever expressed sympathy for terrorist agendas or activities.
