Israel seals off West Bank after Tel Aviv terror attack
Israel is cracking down on security threats in the West Bank after two Palestinian attackers killed four people and wounded nine others Wednesday at a popular shopping area in Tel Aviv. The men, cousins from the West Bank village of Yatta, near Hebron, posed as well-to-do patrons, sitting down at a bar before unexpectedly opening fire on people eating at an adjacent restaurant. Hamas applauded the attack but didn’t take credit for it, promising Israel would be in for “more surprises” during the month of Ramadan. In response, Israel deployed troops to the West Bank and canceled entry permits for 83,000 Palestinians who had permission to travel to Israel. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack on civilians.
