ISIS claims responsibility for Egypt military attack

Islamic State (ISIS) took credit for Friday’s attack at a remote Egyptian army checkpoint on the Sinai Peninsula that killed at least 23 soldiers. ISIS released a statement online late Friday saying it carried out the attack to stop the army from assaulting the terror group’s positions in the territory bordering Gaza and Israel. Local TV channels broadcast live coverage Saturday of the funerals of those killed, with their coffins draped in Egypt’s red, white, and black flag.
