Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claim attacks on Israel

Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday said its jets and air defense systems had shot down the missiles and drones. A Houthi rebel spokesman on Tuesday claimed that it was the third missile and drone attack it had launched against Israel, and said that the rebels would continue to strike at Israel as long as it continued military operations in Gaza.

What is going on in Gaza now? The Israeli military has been launching airstrikes of its own against Iran-backed Hamas militant targets in Gaza, even as ground forces have entered the region. One airstrike on Tuesday flattened buildings in the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza. Israel said the attack destroyed Hamas command structures and tunnels and killed numerous Hamas militants, including a senior terrorist leader. Officials in the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said at least 50 people died in the attack.
