House passes Puerto Rico debt relief
The House passed a debt-relief package for Puerto Rico on Thursday, sending it to the Senate with only three weeks before the island owes a $2 billion payment to creditors. The legislation would create a financial control board and allow restructuring of some of Puerto Rico’s $70 billion debt. The package has bipartisan support and passed 297-127.
