Hamilton wins 11 Tony Awards

The unlikely hit musical about America’s first treasury secretary took top honors during last night’s Tony Awards ceremony. Hamilton, a hip-hop biography, took 11 awards, including best musical. Its top stars, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Daveed Diggs, also won best actress and best actor honors. But Hamilton, nominated for 16 awards, came one short of matching the record set by The Producers.
