GMA names Lauren Daigle artist of the year

The Gospel Music Association named singer Lauren Daigle its artist of the year during last night’s Dove Awards ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. Daigle also won awards for songwriter of the year and pop/contemporary recorded song of the year. The song of the year award went to Pat Barrett and Tony Brown for “Good, Good Father.” For King & Country won for contemporary Christian artist of the year. TobyMac’s album This Is Not A Test won the pop/contemporary album of the year award, but the popular artist created the most buzz of the night when he reunited with former DC Talk bandmates Michael Tait and Kevin Max to sing a rendition of “Love Feels Like.” The crowd gave them a standing ovation. Popular worship band Hillsong UNITED won worship album of the year, while Bethel Music won worship song of the year and instrumental album of the year.
