Globe Trot: Defying logic in California shooting analysis
UNITED STATES: Law enforcement and some in the media seem to be going out of their way not to “demonize Islam” or call Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino terrorism, despite the arsenal of weapons possessed by the killers. On the other side, Fox News and my friend Robert Spencer are quick to make a connection to Syrian refugees that defies logic. The killers were neither Syrians nor refugees. We should be much more concerned with how potential terrorists gain resident visa status.
SYRIA: British warplanes have bombed ISIS and state-owned oil field targets since entering the chaotic air war this week, while many in Iraq believe the United States is supplying ISIS.
NIGERIA: Church leaders appeal for calm after fatal separatist protests in the state of Biafra.
FIFA: The gusting winds of change are whipping through the mansion doors of globalized sports, in the wake of fresh world soccer league arrests and indictments.
ISRAEL: The discovery of King Hezekiah’s personal seal in the labyrinthine digs at the southern end of the Temple Mount comes “as close as possible and tangible as ever to King Hezekiah himself.”
