Georgia judge keeps election probe secret for now

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney on Tuesday said he would decide later whether to make public a report from the special grand jury tasked with investigating former President Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. McBurney heard arguments from media outlets and prosecutors about whether the report should be made public. Until he makes his decision, the report will remain confidential.

What are the odds he makes it public? It’s unclear. Media outlets argue it should be made public now due to the “extraordinary” public interest in the report. Prosecutors, meanwhile, argued it should be kept secret until they can decide whether to file charges.
