Former Maryland governor’s top aide dies after FBI manhunt
Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s one-time chief of staff Roy McGrath has died after a confrontation with the FBI, McGrath’s attorney said Tuesday. Authorities accused McGrath of fraud and embezzling more than $250,000 while he worked for Maryland. McGrath maintained his innocence. A manhunt started last month after he failed to appear for trial.

The FBI is reviewing an “agent-involved shooting.” McGrath died of his wounds that night, his attorneys and the FBI have confirmed. The FBI did not disclose whether the wounds were self-inflicted.
