FBI investigating multimillion-dollar theft on Easter Sunday

The Federal Bureau of Investigation told WORLD in a statement Thursday evening that it is working with the Los Angeles Police Department on the investigation. It described the incident as a multimillion-dollar theft that occurred Easter Sunday. An individual or individuals allegedly stole the millions of dollars in question from a facility in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to the FBI.

What sort of facility was this? The theft occurred at a GardaWorld facility in Sylmar, according to a local media report from NBC Los Angeles. GardaWorld is a “global leader in security services,” specializing in cash management. WORLD contacted GardaWorld for a comment about the incident but has not received a response.
