FBI and Boston Police: No arrest in bombings

UPDATE (2:57 p.m.): Contrary to earlier reports, the FBI and the Boston Police Department have issued statements saying that there have been no arrests in Boston Marathon bombings.

EARLIER REPORT: The FBI reportedly has arrested a suspect in the twin bombings at Monday’s Boston Marathon.

Although they have yet to name the suspect, law enforcement officials say they made an identification using two videos shot near the scene of explosions. One video came from a department store. A Boston television station provided the other.

The suspect could appear in court as early as this afternoon.

A law enforcement official who spoke to media outlets on condition of anonymity said federal marshals took the suspect into custody this afternoon and brought him to a Boston courthouse.

Officials have scheduled a news conference for later today.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
