Fast-moving fire destroys Southern California homes
More than 82,000 people from over 34,000 homes have been forced to flee a raging wildfire in San Bernardino County, California. The fire began on ranchlands east of Los Angeles and quickly covered 28 square miles as it expanded west toward the city. Because of how quickly the blaze was moving, California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency within hours of it breaking out Tuesday—a move that usually comes several days after a wildfire starts.
