Family of four kidnapped in California

Police have arrested a suspect in the kidnapping of an 8-month-old girl, her mother, father, and uncle in Merced County, Calif., but the family is still missing. They were taken from a recently opened office of their trucking company, family members said.

Who is the suspect? Police arrested Jesus Manuel Salgado, 48,  after he tried to use one of the victim’s ATM cards. They said he attempted to take his own life. Investigators don’t know the motive, but they believe the suspect deliberately destroyed evidence, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said in a video on Facebook.
