Explosion at Minnesota mosque causes no injuries

Witnesses said they saw someone throw a small bomb through an office window Saturday morning at a mosque in suburban Minneapolis. An explosion went off in the imam’s office, but no one was injured and bystanders extinguished the fire quickly. The blast happened as attendees gathered for morning prayers around 5 a.m. at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minn. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are investigating. The center serves mostly Muslims from the area’s community of Somali immigrants. “We came to this country for the same reason everyone else came here: freedom to worship,” member Yasir Abdalrahman said.
