Ex-Russian spy released from hospital

A British hospital has discharged former Russian spy Sergei Skripal more than two months after he was poisoned with a nerve agent, hospital officials confirmed. Authorities on March 4 found Skripal and his daughter Yulia unconscious on a bench in Salisbury, England. The two were hospitalized in critical condition, but Yulia recovered more quickly and the Salisbury District Hospital discharged her last month. The hospital in a statement confirmed Skripal and his daughter have moved to an undisclosed location for their protection. “This is an important stage in his recovery, which will now take place away from the hospital,” said Lorna Wilkinson, the hospital’s nursing director. Britain accused Russia of staging the attack that involved a military-grade nerve agent, but Russia denied responsibility. British police said the poison was likely applied on the door handle of the Skripal’s home.
