U-Haul driver charged with threatening president after crash

A 19-year-old Missouri man on Tuesday faced charges of threatening to kill, kidnap, or harm President Joe Biden. Investigators allege that the young man, Sai Varshith Kandula, deliberately drove a U-Haul truck into a barrier near the White House late on Monday night. He also faces charges of reckless driving, trespassing, and destruction of government property.

Why did he crash into the barrier? At the scene, the driver claimed he wanted to kidnap and harm the president. Authorities also reportedly found a Nazi flag in the truck but did not find any explosives or weapons. No one was injured or killed during the crash.
