Dozens killed in two Pakistan bombings
Two blasts today at a market in the northwestern tribal region of Pakistan left at least 15 people dead and another 70 wounded. The bombings came hours after a suicide car bombing near the office of a provincial police chief in southwestern Pakistan killed 11 and wounded 20. A breakaway Taliban faction claimed responsibility for the earlier attack, vowing more, but later the Islamic State group said it was behind the car bomb. Neither claims have been verified. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the latest twin blasts, detonated in a crowded market as people bought food for Iftar, the meal breaking the Ramadan fast.
