Dozens dead after Typhoon Yagi slams Vietnam

Vietnamese authorities on Monday said at least 64 people died as a result of the storm, according to state media VnExpress. The typhoon made landfall Saturday as the strongest storm in the East Sea in three decades. Yagi triggered landslides and floods throughout the country, and the national meteorological agency issued landslide warnings in 17 out of 25 northern provinces.

What other damage has the storm caused? A bridge that spanned the Red River in northern Vietnam collapsed Monday, according to local officials. High waters also swept a passenger bus carrying 20 people into a stream on Monday and thousands of homes have been flooded.
