Debby to bring flooding, chance of tornadoes to east coast

The National Weather Service on Thursday downgraded Debby from a tropical storm to a tropical depression after it lashed much of the southeast this week. The storm made landfall Thursday for a second time, in Bulls Bay, S.C., after first striking Florida as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday. The weather system is forecast to continue moving north over the weekend and flood warnings and watches were in place Friday from the Carolinas through New England, according to the NWS.

How much damage has the storm caused? At least seven people have died as a result of the storm. Two people died in North Carolina, four died in Florida, and one died in Georgia. The storm also spawned several tornadoes throughout the region and brought triple digit heat to southern states.
