Death toll in Afghan university attack rises to 13
The death toll in the attack on the American University of Afghanistan has risen to 13. Militants killed students, a teacher, police officers, and a security guard in the hourslong attack, which wounded dozens of people. No group has claimed responsibility, but Afghan authorities are pointing fingers at Pakistan, saying the country harbors Taliban militants. Pakistan denies the claim, and a spokesperson for the Taliban said the group is investigating the attack. American University, is modeled after U.S. colleges and offers liberal arts courses to about 1,000 students.
