Coronavirus sparks a run on puzzles

Toilet paper isn’t the only product in short supply these days. The closures of schools, businesses, and workplaces due to the coronavirus pandemic mean millions of Americans need ways to pass the time. The owners of The Puzzle Warehouse in St. Louis told The Washington Post they went from selling an average of 1,000 puzzles a day to 10,000. Owner Brian Way said he hired two dozen new workers to handle all the shipments, many of whom lost other jobs due to the outbreak.

What else are people doing to stay busy? They are spending more time with loved ones and, evidently, pets: New York animal shelters have waitlists of people who want to take in dogs and cats, Bloomberg reported.
