CMP releases new video despite lawsuits

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) encourages and supports the illegal practice of fetal tissue sales, according to the latest video released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). CMP published the video as it does battle in court over footage taken at annual NAF meetings in 2014 and 2015. NAF is trying to permanently enjoin the pro-life organization from releasing the footage.

CMP’s latest undercover video, which includes previously unreleased footage, shows an actor posing as a representative from a fetal tissue purchasing company. When the actor explains to NAF training and education representatives that her company splits fees from researchers with abortion facilities, the NAF representatives approve the idea.

“It definitely sounds like something some of our members would be really interested in,” said Sandy Fulkerson, NAF training and education coordinator.

Jennifer Hart, NAF’s director of training and education, called the actor’s offer a “win-win” and offered to put her in touch with Rob Borger, NAF’s Group Purchasing Director.

Both suggested the CMP actor attend NAF’s annual meeting to exhibit.

“It seems like this would be a really great option to offer our members,” Fulkerson said.

NAF is the major abortion provider trade organization, and Planned Parenthood comprises about 50 percent of its membership.

Earlier footage from CMP already revealed the close relationship between NAF and StemExpress, a large tissue procurement company. StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer admitted donations to NAF. And Deborah VanDerhei, Planned Parenthood’s national director of the Consortium of Abortion Providers, admitted Planned Parenthood coordinates with NAF to determine how the industry manages remuneration for baby body parts, in light of the illegality of fetal tissue sales.

On July 31, NAF filed suit in San Francisco against David Daleiden, head of CMP. The suit prevents CMP from releasing footage of NAF’s meetings. NAF argues Daleiden snuck into its meetings to obtain the footage, ignoring that he was invited.

At the end of the video released today, CMP asks viewers to consider what happened at NAF’s meetings that it wants to hide from the public.

“The fact is, the National Abortion Federation is a key accomplice in Planned Parenthood and StemExpress’ scheme to profit from baby body parts,” Daleiden said. “And for this reason they are desperate to suppress the freedom of the citizen press and cover up the evidence of their illicit dealings.”
