Clinton touts plan to tax America into prosperity
Hillary Clinton attacked Donald Trump’s economic proposals today, saying his ideas would benefit only the wealthy. Clinton’s speech in Warren, Mich., offered a counterpoint to the ideas Trump laid out Monday in Detroit. Where Trump wants to simplify the tax code and decrease the corporate tax rate, Clinton plans to raise taxes on high-income households and businesses, in part to pay for infrastructure improvements that could create new jobs. The candidates found common ground on one issue: They both oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement championed by President Barack Obama.
