Bus crash in Germany kills 18 people

A bus carrying a group of German senior citizens early Monday burst into flames when it hit a truck on a highway, killing at least 18 people and injuring 30 others. Police spokeswoman Irene Brandenstein said two drivers and 48 passengers were on the bus when it rear-ended the trailer on a highway near Muenchberg in Bavaria. The bus was completely charred by the time firefighters arrived at the scene. Police officials said the seniors on the bus had come from Saxony in eastern Germany.
