British police: Ex-spy poisoned at home

British police late Wednesday said the Russian ex-spy and his daughter who suffered a nerve agent attack earlier this month were likely poisoned at the front door of their home in Salisbury, England. Authorities on March 4 found Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia unconscious on a bench in a Salisbury park. Doctors said Thursday that Yulia Skripal’s condition had improved from critical to stable, but she still required 24-hour care. Her father remains in critical condition. London’s Metropolitan Police Force in a statement said authorities will focus their ongoing investigation around the Skripals’ home after they found the highest concentration of the nerve agent at their front door. Authorities previously searched and found lower traces of the nerve agent at a pub and restaurant the Skripals had visited. Russia has denied accusations that it staged the attack. The United States and other British allies in the West showed solidarity by expelling more than 150 Russian diplomats from their countries as a response to the attack.
