Britain’s Kate Middleton hospitalized after surgery

Catherine, Princess of Wales, commonly known as Kate Middleton, underwent a planned abdominal surgery on Tuesday for an undisclosed condition. Kensington Palace confirmed on Wednesday that the princess will remain hospitalized for up to two weeks and is “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.” The palace would not disclose her diagnosis or details about her recovery but confirmed her ailment is non-cancerous. Her hospitalization comes a week before King Charles III is scheduled to undergo surgery.

Why is the King of England getting an operation? Buckingham Palace released a statement on Wednesday confirming the king will have surgery next week for an enlarged prostate. The palace confirmed the 75-year-old king’s condition is benign and surgery is “common with thousands of men each year.”
