Biden to meet with Putin
President Joe Biden plans to make his first international trip as president in June. On the docket: Meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva. The fraught relationship between the United States and Russia has worsened since Biden became president, and the White House is mostly hoping to restore some stability. Putin and Biden agreed to the meeting on Tuesday.
What will they talk about? The two leaders will likely discuss Russia’s aggressive actions toward Ukraine and relationship with Belarus, as well as efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Biden is also scheduled to attend a Group of Seven meeting in Britain and a NATO summit in Brussels.
