Biden, Sanders keep their distance

The leading Democratic presidential candidates stood 6 feet apart Sunday night and argued their positions in a CNN studio with no audience. After greeting each other with an elbow bump, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., each explained why he would make the best president in a time of crisis like the COVID-19 outbreak.

What did they say? Biden talked about the importance of access to testing and increasing the number of emergency hospital beds available. Sanders said Washington should guarantee workers’ reimbursement for any lost wages during the crisis. If he wins the nomination, Biden guaranteed he will select a woman as his running mate, while Sanders said he would likely do the same. Voters in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio are scheduled to cast ballots in primaries on Tuesday.
