Attorney who won Dobbs speaks at March for Life
Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, whose office argued the Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade, said until laws reflect compassion, “life remains fragile.” She was one of many speakers at the Friday rally before the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Marchers called for Congress not to pass legislation that would override state legislation that protects unborn babies. Laws safeguarding babies from abortion from conception or soon thereafter are in effect in more than a dozen states. Judges in five additional states have temporarily blocked the enforcement of similar legislation. The South Carolina Supreme Court earlier this month declared a state constitutional right to abortion, permanently preventing enforcement of the state law that protected babies with detectable heartbeats from abortion.
Were there any counterprotests? Protesters marched from the rally on the National Mall to the Supreme Court. Counterprotesters met the pro-life marchers waving signs with slogans like “bans off our bodies” and “mind your own uterus.” But many of the pro-abortion chants were drowned out by pro-life voices as they passed the Supreme Court, according to WORLD reporter Leo Briceno.
