At least four dead from severe storms

A severe storm system pummeled the southeast throughout Tuesday with heavy rain, high winds, and apparent tornados. Over 22 million people from Florida to Virginia were under tornado watches on Tuesday afternoon. An elderly woman in Houston County, Ala., died when her mobile home was lifted from its foundation. One North Carolina resident also died after a storm tore through a mobile home park, critically injuring two others. At least two more people in Alabama and Georgia were killed by fallen trees.

Where is the storm now? The storm moved into the northeast by Tuesday night, bringing flooding and power outages to the region. Areas of New Jersey reported getting three inches of rain since Tuesday night. Vermont saw winds of up to 70 miles per hour along with snow and rain, causing 30,000 homes to be without power on Wednesday morning. Over 90 million people from eastern Ohio up to the Northeast were still under wind and flood advisories on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
