Police continue search for gunman after at least 18 killed in Maine

A gunman opened fire Wednesday night at a restaurant and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, before fleeing the scene. The shooter killed at least 18 people and injured 13 others. City police identified Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin, Maine, as a person of interest. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, and other federal agencies continued to search for Card through Friday morning.

Where are police searching for the suspect? A vehicle connected to the suspect was located Wednesday night in Lisbon, about eight miles southeast of Lewiston. Police on Thursday morning advised residents of several nearby cities to shelter in place while the search continued. Portland Public Schools, the largest school district in the state, canceled classes on Thursday. Portland is about 30 miles south of Lewiston.
