Two teens charged in Alabama mass shooting

Investigators charged Ty Reik McCullough, 17, and Travis McCullough, 16, each with four counts of reckless murder, authorities said Wednesday. Authorities believe the two Tuskegee teens are connected to a mass shooting Saturday at a birthday party in Dadeville, Ala. The shooting killed four and wounded 32 others, four of whom remain in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released the motive behind the attacks.

How did a celebration end in disaster? The party for Alexis Dowdell’s 16th birthday was at a dance studio just off the Dadeville town square. Alexis’ mother paused the celebration to ask people with guns to leave, witnesses said, but multiple people later began shooting. Alexis’ brother, Phil, a high school senior, was among those killed at the party, said Tallapoosa County District Attorney Mike Segrest.
