12 terror suspects arrested in Belgium
Belgian authorities raided dozens of homes Saturday, arresting 12 terror suspects after a major investigation revealed that a terrorist attack could be imminent. Prime Minister Charles Michel said the nation remains “extremely vigilant, hour by hour” and that the country’s terror level would remain at the second-highest level, meaning a threat of an attack “is possible and likely.” He refused to elaborate on the nature of the threat. The federal prosecutor’s office said raids were conducted in 16 municipalities, mostly in and around Brussels, adding that there were no major incidents during the raids and no arms or explosives were found.
