WORLD Radio - Music of the Season: Go Tell It on the Mountain

MEGAN BASHAM, HOST: Today is Friday, January 3rd. Good morning! This is The World and Everything in It from listener-supported WORLD Radio. I’m Megan Basham.

NICK EICHER, HOST: And I’m Nick Eicher. Well, the Christmas season has come to an end for most of us. As you drive through your neighborhood, you’ve probably noticed the annual migration of the Christmas trees—from the living room to the curb.

But for many Christians around the world, Christmas doesn’t end on December 25th, it’s just beginning. Christmas celebrations will go on two weeks, ending with the arrival of the magi on Epiphany.

BASHAM: So while our culture is putting Christmas away, we’re going to keep celebrating a little longer by ending today’s program with a great Epiphany hymn, arranged by John Rutter: “Go Tell it on the Mountain” — performed here by the Bob Jones University combined choirs and symphony orchestra. It was recorded in 2018.
