Trump, Kim Jong Un prepare for tomorrow’s summit » The stakes are high for tomorrow’s denuclearization summit in Singapore between the United States and North Korea.

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un both arrived in Singapore over the weekend and are preparing for their historic meeting.

On the Senate Armed Services Committee, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says maximum pressure on Kim is paying off. 

GRAHAM: The only reason North Korea is sitting down at the table with Trump is that they believe for the first time that they’ve got somebody in the White House they don’t know how to deal with, and Trump’s goal is to eliminate their nuclear missile program, not contain it. 

President Trump says he’s considering as many as 300 new sanctions against North Korea if the talks break down.

White House accuses Canada’s Trudeau of “bad faith” diplomacy » While relations between the United States and North Korea may be improving, that is not the case with Canada. 

The White House is now accusing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of “bad faith diplomacy” after Friday’s G7 economic meeting in Quebec where world leaders agreed to a consensus trade statement. 

After Trump left the meeting for Singapore, Trudeau told reporters Canada would not be pushed around by the United States.

TRUDEAU: I told the president that we would be moving forward with retaliatory equivalent tariffs as of July 1st, and he expressed to me that he thought that would be a mistake.

Trump has imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro told Fox News Sunday that Trudeau only appeared to be negotiating in good faith with President Trump at the G7. 

NAVARRO: And then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door, and that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference. 

Navarro said Canada already has high tariffs on American agricultural products like maple syrup under the North American Free Trade Agreement. The Trump administration wants to throw out NAFTA and write a new agreement.

Krauthammer: “Weeks to live” » Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst Charles Krauthammer has revealed that he has just weeks to live. WORLD Radio’s Kent Covington has more.

KENT COVINGTON, REPORTER: Charles Krauthammer is a popular author and columnist, who has been a fixture on the Fox News program “Special Report.” That was until last year when took leave to deal with a series of medical problems.

The 68-year-old Krauthammer had a cancerous tumor removed from his abdomen. Doctors deemed operation a success, but the cancer has returned.

In a letter to his readers, Krauthammer said—quote—“My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live. This is the final verdict. My fight is over.”

In a 2013 interview, Krauthammer told WORLD Radio his career was defined by “two migrations.”

KRAUTHAMMER: From being a doctor to being a writer, and from being a great society liberal to a small government conservative. 

He graduated from Harvard Medical school in 1975 after suffering a swimming pool accident that left him a quadriplegic. He eventually gave up a career in psychiatry to become a writer, and his conservative political insights earned him a Pulitzer Prize.

Triple Crown Jockey thanks Christ » History made at the Belmont Stakes in New York on Saturday— 

COLLMUS: He’s just perfect and now he’s just immortal! Justify is the 13th Triple Crown winner!

Justify became only the 13th horse in racing history to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. He also became only the second horse to do so without ever losing a race, after Secretariat achieved that feat 45 years earlier to the day.

At age 52, jockey Mike Smith became the oldest jockey to win a Triple Crown. He praised God for the feat.

SMITH: First and foremost, I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for blessing on this wonderful day.

Smith was already in the horse racing hall of fame, but had never ridden a Triple Crown winning horse until Saturday.

Golden State Warriors/Washington Capitals fans celebrate » Sports fans in Washington, DC, and San Francisco also spent the weekend celebrating—  

BREEN: There’s the buzzer. There’s a new dynasty in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors, champions once again back-to-back titles. 

Golden State on Friday won its third NBA championship in four years, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 108 to 85 and sweeping the seven-game series.

CURRY: Just extremely grateful for the team I get to play for and all that’s gone into being back as champions again. 

And in Washington, DC, the first-ever NHL title celebration. 

ALBERT: The puck is dropped. Start the celebration in our nation’s capital. The Washington Capitals for the first time in franchise history are the Stanley Cup champions! 

The Capitals won the NHL’s Stanley Cup by taking Game five over the Vegas Golden Knights. 

That ended the Knight’s Cinderella story, an expansion team made it into the title series in its first year in the league. 

But the Capitals franchise had gone 44 years without winning the Stanley Cup. The city will honor its Stanley Cup champions with a victory parade tomorrow.
